This is an excellent chair! We have been borrowing the same telescope chairs from our parents every year for the past 15 years and finally decided to buy our own. Even though our parents' chairs are not heavily used, the fact that they have lasted so long speaks for itself! The High Back Folding Chairs we just bought seem to be of the same excellent quality. The fabric on the chairs is a tightly woven nylon or something, so it dries quickly and does not stretch out the way cotton fabrics do. It is very comfortable and at an easy height for getting in and out of it (16 inches!), especially with the sturdy wooden armrests for support. The leg design prevents the chair legs from sinking unevenly in the sand, providing more stability. They are easy to fold and unfold, and they do not flop open when I carry them. The wooden bar below the seat is far enough down that you will never feel it through the fabric under your legs. They are not traditional beach chairs in that they do not recline, but if you are looking for a higher chair that is sturdy in the sand or on the ground, this is a great chair! The only thing I would improve on is the bar behind the head. You will obviously feel it when you rest your head back. A tube of foam may help. I usually hang my towel over the back so the bar is covered. I plan to use these chairs at the beach, soccer games, camping and as extra yard chairs when needed.
